The optical industry has experienced amazing technological evolution throughout its existence. In order to provide top-of-the-line products, Pech Optical has invested in an array of these advancements. The timeline below details the installation of equipment as well as other notable occurrences in the history of Pech Optical.
2008: Zeiss AR equipment and facility updated to include A20I coating machines and H8NG hard coat line; Pech became and Essilor Partner Lab
2007: Silhouette Optical Ltd. partnered with Pech; Pech launched a new line of in-house mirror coatings, Safari Mirrors
2006: Satisloh VFT and Autoflex polish line installed; accounts invited to tour the “new” lab
2005: LOH robotic surface equipment installed; LOH robotic ES-3, National Optronics 7E, and MEI Monosphera edgers installed for custom edging; Crizal EXT lab (AR treatment from Essilor of America, Inc) installed
2004: Construction project started to add 29,000+ sq. ft. to facility
2003: New equipment demanded additional space; five acres of land purchased for expansion
2002: Zeiss A60F chamber added to handle increased coating demands; Pech raised the roof - literally - doubling the administrative office space
2000: Zeiss Foundation coating and second B12 coater added; Gerber Coburn Hexapod system installed for polycarbonate
1990’s: 18,000 sq. ft. facility purchased and fitted for an optical lab in Sioux City’s Bridgeport Industrial Park; first Lektreiver “rotary file” installed to handle lens inventory; first AR lens treatment system - a Leybold CCS 250 - installed, followed by first Carl Zeiss Vision AR system - B12 bell jar machine
1989: Pech Optical Corp. opened in downtown Sioux City, Iowa
